We are a South Florida non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to eliminate the digital inequality existing in the classrooms between children who have access to technology and those who do not. By providing children in need with free refurbished computers, we aim to shrink the digital divide. Please join us in our effort to bridge this gap!
Hi! My name is Adrian and I am a 16 year-old high school student who lives in Boca Raton, FL. For as long as I can remember, I have been passionate about technology. I would always spend time taking apart old devices, learning about what's inside, and then putting them back together. Today, I build and refurbish dozens of computers for friends and family, program Android applications, and work as the “I.T. Guy” around the house. One day during the summer of 2017, my grandmother, Robin, approached me and asked if I could refurbish her 7 year-old computer and give it to David, a 13 year-old child whose parents didn’t have the money to afford one. Of course my answer was yes, and I got to work. I still remember the huge smile he gave me when I handed him the computer a few days later; and soon, I got a report that he had already installed modelling software and was spending hours learning how to use it. This experience inspired me to do more. If the computer opened so many opportunities for David, then why couldn’t it do the same for the hundreds of thousands of children who face the same problems? And just like that, the seed for DinoTech was planted.
I needed help bringing DinoTech to life and so I partnered with my mother, Ida. Researching, we learned that a minimum of 3 people were required on our Board of Directors. Along with my mother, I asked Lillian and Francine to join the board and they all said yes! Next, I was excited to have my two great friends Kevin and Raghu eagerly sign up as volunteers. Good news followed in the end of November when the IRS finally confirmed our charity as a tax exempt organization under 501(c)(3). Now we were ready to roll!
Whether you help through financial gifts, computer donations, volunteering, or spreading the word about us, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We can't do this without your support!
